Daniel Ordower joined Pilobolus in October 2016. Prior to joining the Pilobolus team, Daniel most recently served as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of design firm GUILD. He owned and operated The Ordower Group, an award winning lighting design and technical management firm working in opera, theater, industrial, and event markets on four continents. The Ordower Group collaborated on numerous consumer experiences for clients including Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton, The National Retail Federation, Maxim, Sean John, Kohler, Clinique, Henri Bendel, Geox, The Waldorf-Astoria, Verizon, and Vitamin Water. Daniel’s design work included extensive work for the Los Angeles Opera, Baltimore Opera, and Connecticut Opera. Internationally, Daniel realized designs at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Palau del les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia, Opera National de Lyon, and Festpielhaus Baden-Baden. He has worked in pre-eminent regional theaters in the US including San Jose Rep, Geva Theater Center, Portland Center Stage, Coconut Grove Playhouse, American Stage Co, Actors’ Express, and Writers’ Theater Chicago and with artists including Jimmy Buffet, Plácido Domingo, and the Radio City Rockettes. He has been a guest lecturer, panelist, and designer at Brooklyn Law School, Northwestern University, SUNY Purchase, and Columbia College in Chicago.
A native of St. Louis, Daniel is a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829 of IATSE and a graduate of Northwestern University and Brooklyn Law School.
EMILY MILAM KENT graduated Magna Cum Laude, earning a BSEd in Dance Education from the University of Georgia. Soon after, she began collaborating with Pilobolus. Emily toured with Pilobolus Too, a duet configuration of Pilobolus, and has been photographed for company calendars and books including Pilobolus The Human Alphabet and Twisted Yoga. Emily has choreographed and performed for corporate events and commercial performances such as Proctor and Gamble’s National Product Launch in New York, Europe’s IFA convention, and the 79th Annual Academy Awards. She has created original works for high school and university dance companies for Pilobolus and as an individual artist. She has set classic Pilobolus repertoire on high school and university students; she and her partner Matt Kent, were the first to have the process notated by a Laban Notator. Emily now works as the company’s Education and Community Engagement Manager. She spends her days teaching and training teachers to bring Pilobolus’s ideals of collaboration and improvisation to young and old.
ITAMAR KUBOVY oversees the many moving parts of Pilobolus. He founded and co-curates Pilobolus’s critically-acclaimed International Collaborators Project, which has created work with the MIT Distributed Robotics Lab, head writer of SpongeBob SquarePants, Steve Banks, choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, comics artist Art Spiegelman, puppeteer Basil Twist, masters of trickery Penn & Teller, and writers Etgar Keret and Shira Geffen. Itamar is one of the creators of Pilobolus’s Shadowland, the evening-length hit show. He also evolved Pilobolus Creative Services, collaborating with clients such as Google, IBM, Boston Consulting Group, the US Olympic Committee, the NFL Network, Pfizer, and many others to develop movement for film, advertising, publishing, and corporate events.
JAKE MCINTYRE joined Pilobolus in 2017. Born and raised in Orange County, CA, Jake graduated from Chapman University with a Bachelors degrees in Dance and in Communication. Jake’s professional experience encompasses both concert nonprofit work and commercial entertainment. He has previously worked for David Lieberman Artists’ Representatives, The Araca Group, Patron Technology, and the Road Company in business development, sales, and operational roles. Since moving to NYC, Jake has been the company manager for BARE Dance Company as well as producing and curating a number of theatrical performances at the 14th St Y Theater, working with over 35 choreographers in just two years. At 7, Jake was featured in Vogue magazine for wearing a cape, and this is still his biggest claim to fame.
KIRSTEN LEON (Senior Company Manager) came to Pilobolus in 2011, after spending almost 10 years touring with Shen Wei Dance Arts, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, David Dorfman Dance and others. She settled in at Pilobolus when she started a family with Shane Mongar with whom she now has two sweet little boys, Curtis and Oliver.
LILY BINNS was born and raised minutes away from Pilobolus’ headquarters in Connecticut and grew up with the company. Since graduating from Columbia University in 2003, with a BA in English and Creative Writing, she has worked as a book editor for Ten Speed Press in Berkeley, California, and as Managing Editor of Saveur magazine, in New York City. Her book, The Hungry Scientist Handbook: Electric Birthday Cakes, Edible Origami, and Other DIY Projects for Techies, Tinkerers, and Foodies, coauthored with Patrick Buckley, was published by Harper Collins in 2008.
MARK FUCIK is a native of Walnut Creek, California. He attended Rutgers University where he earned his BA in Theater Arts. He started dancing at 21, joined Pilobolus in 2001, and danced with the main company until 2005. He then began working in many different capacities, performing with Pilobolus Creative Services as a dancer, teacher, and Associate Creative Director. He has taught future generations of dancers through the Pilobolus Institute, as well as on his own at colleges and universities around the U.S. He was excited to get back into the studio to create Shadowland, and toured with the original Shadowland cast for two years.
MATT KENT has worked with Pilobolus since 1996 as a dancer, collaborator, creative director, choreographer, and associate artistic director. Past Pilobolus projects include Head Choreographer for Andre Heller’s Magnifico, a large-scale circus production; choreographer for a Sports Emmy-nominated teaser created in collaboration with the NFL network; and choreographer for a television appearance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien; choreographer and movement for Shakespeare’s The Tempest, co-directed by Teller and Aaron Posner. Matt is one of the creators of Pilobolus’s hit show, Shadowland, and he has performed in over 24 countries and on Pilobolus’s appearance at the 79th Academy Awards. Outside of Pilobolus, he has worked as zombie choreographer for AMC’s hit series “The Walking Dead” and as movement consultant on the Duncan Sheik musical, Whisper House. Matt lives in Connecticut with his wife and two sons.
MICHAEL TRACY was born in Florence and raised in New England. He met the other Pilobolus founders at Dartmouth in 1969, and became an Artistic Director after graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1973. Michael toured with Pilobolus for 14 years—for eight as the only touring Director—and continues to choreograph and direct the company. He has set his work on the Joffrey, Ohio, Hartford, Nancy, and Verona Ballets, and choreographed a production of Mozart’s Magic Flute with John Eliot Gardiner, the Monteverdi Choir, and the English Baroque Soloists, and a national tour production for the National Theater of the Deaf. Michael taught at Yale University for two decades and lives in northwestern Connecticut.
RENÉE JAWORSKI received her BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Upon graduating she began work with MOMIX, performing and teaching throughout the world as well as creating her own work in Philadelphia. She began performing with Pilobolus in 2000, working on exciting projects such as the 2007 Academy Awards. She has served as dance captain, master teacher, rehearsal director, and most recently director and choreographer for many of the company’s collaborations with artists and entities such as Dan Zanes, Steve Banks, Takuya Muramatsu, the band OK Go, Michael Moschen, RadioLab, and Sidi Larbi Cherkoui. In 2010, her alma mater honored her with the University’s Silver Star Alumni Award for work as an artist in the field of dance. Renée lives in Connecticut with her husband and daughter.
ROBBY BARNETT was born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains and graduated from Dartmouth College in 1972. In addition to his work with Pilobolus, he has been variously employed as a technical metal worker, an instructor for Outward Bound, Inc., a garden and landscape designer, and has taught skiing and high school art. Mr. Barnett lives in northwestern Connecticut with his wife and two children.

SHANE MONGAR is originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee but has made New York City his home. A graduate of Western Kentucky University, Shane has worked on countless regional and off-Broadway productions. In his spare time he enjoys reading, music, and spending time with family and friends. Shane would like to thank everyone who has helped him on his journey and is excited to be working with Pilobolus!
